Usability test at Personalshop: An exciting journey through the user experience

24. Apr 2024

At the end of last year our User Centered Design Team was allowed to conduct a usability test at Personalshop. We would like to thank them for the opportunity and the great cooperation.
The aim of the Uselab was to evaluate the customer journey of Personalshop from the user's point of view - from the various print media to the smooth purchase in the online shop.

The research questions in this test focussed on the following topics:
- How do users rate the various print media (new customers, customers)?
- Do potential users have difficulties entering the shop?
- How do they rate the handling of the voucher / PIN code?
- How are the individual pages and the respective content and functions offered evaluated in detail?

To this end, 11 test participants were invited to a test studio, who were guided through the use case by our experts Aileen and Katharina. When recruiting the participants, great importance was attached to a balanced mix of Personalshop customers and non-customers. It was also important that the test subjects corresponded to the typical Personalshop customer. In terms of the devices used, 80% were desktop and 20% mobile.
The interviews lasted an average of 75 minutes and observers from Personalshop were cordially invited. In a final presentation, our experts presented the results of the test and possible optimisation suggestions to Personalshop.
Maria Agreiter from Personalshop about the usability test:
"In a nutshell: These days on site in Munich were extremely instructive for us. We had the opportunity to receive direct feedback from our customers, which we were able to implement promptly. In addition, the organisation and coordination by empirecom was excellent."
